Edward Gorey American Illustrator

Edward Gorey, an American illustrator and writer, was born in Chicago in 1925 and died in 2000, in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. He was known for his macabre illustrations and his sometimes wordless books of Victorian and Edwardian settings.
Especially he became famous for his animated introduction to the PBS series Mystery! in 1980.
He was extensively knowledgeable in literature, friendly and generous, loved ballet and fur coats, had a lot of cats and preferred mostly to be alone. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Gorey)
