Theodore Verschaeren was a Belgian graphic artist and painter of genre scenes and portraits. He was also a playwright.
He was the second in a family of eight children. His brothers Charles and Barth were both accomplished painters.
The artist had his first solo exhibition in the Brussels gallery "Aeolian" in 1920.
His style incorporates elements from traditional realism with some expressionist characteristics and art deco features.
