She was a famous beauty, originally from Subiaco, a town in the Province of Rome, and a model for many artists living in Italy in the 19th century. Her partner, the English painter Charles Coleman, a native of Yorkshire, moved to Rome in 1835. They had a son, Fortunata's fourth child, born in 1846, Henry Coleman, who became a watercolourist painter.
She definitely sat for the German painter August Riedel (1799-1883), known for his sentimental genre paintings. (There's no direct indication that it is the same model on these canvases, but it looks like her)
