Russian Artist Vyacheslav Kalinin
The Russian painter of the fantastic, an aesthete and manierist, Kalinin pictures the everyday and the supernatural in the life of Muscovite bohemians showing a similarity to Mikhail Boulgakov, particularly praised by the Moscow intelligentsia of the 1970's.
A gifted graphic artist, he considers himself as a follower of the romantic trend of the Moscow school. Kalinin introduces into his artworks the portraits of the real people, nudity, sketches of architectural monuments of Moscow, although he tends to the symbolic compositions.
